The Courtyards

The Ivy House

For students who would prefer their own private room, this is the most affordable option-- which also yields the largest space for the student to live in. Students get guaranteed placement into their own private, single room in The Courtyards (there are no doubles or triples). Placement into a private room is guaranteed with signed housing agreement-- just be sure to sign up before all of the private rooms fill.

In addition to the private room, students share an attached living area, dining area, kitchen and bathroom area within their assigned housing quarters. Square footage varies from 1200 to 1400 square feet, which is quite spacious. Each room comes fully furnished. These suites are co-ed by housing quarters (meaning that same-gender roommates are given for the shared living area, kitchen, dining and bathrooms). Private single rooms come equipped with bed set, desk set, ceiling fan, closet, built-in drawers, window, blinds and carpet. Living areas include couch, chairs, end tables, lamp, big windows and mini-blinds. Kitchens are fully equipped with full-size fridge, microwave, full-size stove, and dishwasher. The apartment-style housing option at The Courtyards are the only option in this group which include dishwasher, Many students ask which dorm The Courtyards is most similar to; the layout is most similar to Lakeside, but The Courtyards is much bigger, closer to classes (across the street from many), and cheaper. Lakeside is almost 1 mile away.

Private single rooms in the apartment-style housing quarters are significantly less expensive than single rooms in the other dorms (like Windsor Hall and Ivy House), plus you get more living space. These are also located closer to most UF classes than Windsor Hall or Ivy House, and closer than many on-campus traditional dorms.
