How do I know which style is best for me?
| You’ve already made the decision to go to UF and live in Gainesville. Congratulations!
Now you should decide if you want your own private room or if you’d prefer a more social environment where you have a roommate. |
|
| By visiting the detailed pages for each layout option (Single, Double, etc.) you will easily be able to decide which dorm building offers you the perfect dorm room. On these pages, each building is compared and contrasted with photo’s, charts, and more.
Unlike the traditional UF dorms, there is no lottery system for luxury dorms. You are guaranteed placement into the dorm building and dorm room style you sign up for. The most popular option is the dorm room in suite-style layout. You have your own room which is attached to others, which share a common living area, full kitchen, and dining area. It’s the best way to meet other UF students. This option also offers the most space for the least money. The layout is similar to Lakeside and Beaty on campus, except it is much cheaper and each person has their own room. The suite-style layout is more than $1200 cheaper per year than Beaty—and you get more living space and roommate matching. Students who want the most common dorm experience (two roommates sharing a dorm room) should visit the double dorm room page. You'll have the option of choosing an attached or shared bathroom. Students who want the most privacy should visit the single dorm room page. |
